Chip Downing
Who is Chip Downing?
Chip Downing is the founder of S5 Intelligence Corporation and a luminary of the embedded systems industry. He has a 20-year history of creating COTS safety certification evidence for commercial RTOSs, design tools, and other products, and these are designed into over 100 aircraft types. Mr. Downing previously served as Senior Market Development Director of Aerospace and Defense at Real-Time Innovations (RTI) where he managed RTI’s global aerospace and defense business. Prior to RTI he was the Senior Director of Aerospace & Defense at Wind River Systems, where during his 13-year tenure the design wins for certified avionics products grew to more than 500 projects. Mr. Downing has also led sales, marketing, and consulting organizations at Esterel Technologies (now Ansys), Validated Software, OnCore Systems, Mentor Graphics (Siemens), Qualix Group (EMC), CENCO (Safran), Skyline Labs, and Computer Sharing Services.
